A bowl of rice topped with chopped fatty tuna and grated yam (マグロ中落山かけ丼)

I had lunch at a Japanese seafood restaurant in Fujisawa yesterday.


It is made with chopped fatty tuna with grated yam, mixed vegetable tempura and miso soup.
And then a bowl of rice topped with chopped fatty tuna and grated yam.


A thick mixed vegetable tempura... it is called "kakiage" in Japanese (deep-fried vegetable strips).


Raw chopped tuna is popular in Japan and I especially like tuna... and kakiage... yummy !
(注)中落とは背骨の脇の肉のことだけど、魚を生で食べる習慣のない外人には違いが判らないと思うし、中落を現した英語はないですね・・・肉の部位を説明すると長ったらしくなりますしね・・・
