A special chirashi-zushi（えび千両ちらし）

I had a special chirashi-zushi, sushi rice in a lunch box with a variety of ingredients... egg, shrimp, squid, gizzard shad and eel. I bought it at an Ekiben shop in Ueno station. Ekiben is a lunch box that is sold in train stations all over Japan.

After lunch I had some snacks, tea and wine...

Ekiben is made especially for train passengers making a long journey. You should definitely try Ekiben at Ueno station in Tokyo.

The best okonomiyaki at an okonomiyaki shop in Inage, Chiba（お好み焼き「よしこ」）

今日、千葉稲毛の放医研重粒子医科学センター病院に前立腺癌の経過観察に行った帰りに、関西風お好み焼き「よしこ」に寄りました。
I had lunch at an okonomiyaki shop in Inage, Chiba on the way back home from The Reserch Center Hospital for Charged Particle Therapy of NIRS.

治療後、2年半経過で、次回は、治療後３年です。

今日は、この店の女将のお母さんである本当の「よしこ」さんにお会いすることが出来ました（たまたま、手伝いに来られていたみたいです）。それで、この店の超お奨め品、この店一番のお好み焼きを頼みました・・・よしこ玉です。
The best okonomiyaki in the shop... containing beef, pork, squid, shrimp, octopus, scallop, cheese, rice cake... etc.

また、次回の経過観察の帰りに行ってみたいと思います。

それで、よしこさんは大阪の出身で、この店はその娘さんがやっているということなんですが、放医研の先生方はよく外人さんを連れてお見えになるとのことで、この界隈では有名な店なんです。

昨夜、南林間のタイ料理店イーサン食堂であった豊田勇造のライブに行ってきました。豊田勇造君は京都の高校の同級生でフォークのシンガーソングライターなのです。
Yuzo Toyoda, my high school classmate and a singer-songwriter was having a concert at a Thai cuisine restaurant in Minamirinkan, Yamato last night.

I was going to buy Ichigo Daifuku at a dumpling store in Sagami-ono, Sagamihara today.
(note) ichigo = strawberry

Ichigo Daifuku...

Daifuku is a Japanese confection consist of a rice cake stuffed with sweet filling.
I was enjoying Ichigo Daifuku being both sweet and sour on a nice spring day.

Grilled pike conger（鱧（はも）のグリル）

Salad... and Fairvalley Chenin Blanc from South Africa.

（注）南アフリカのフェアヴァレー（生産者名）のシュナンブラン（ブドウの品種名）は、フルーティでフレッシュな爽快感のあるあっさりすっきりな白ワインです。

Conger pike is considered a luxury food stuff in summer... It is the hot summer weather today... yummy!!

I had lunch at a café in my neighborhood today. I had the special coffee for this month "Cafe Caramel" and sandwiches.

It is made of coffee, cream, caramel and nuts.
It is free because my birthday is in April... yummy!!

Cherry blossom viewing in my neighborhood, Sagamihara #2 （相模原市内近所の桜＃２）

I have been to see the cherry blossoms close to my home today...
今日も、桜を見に近場の桜の名所？に行ってみました。
まず、道保川公園駐車場付近・・・満開（まだ、蕾が残っている状態）
（注）七曲り坂ではない方の駐車場です

続いて、望地弁天キャンプ場・・・散りかけている

高田橋上流の土手・・・満開、花見客がちらほら

横山公園・・・かなり散ってしまっている

道保川公園と高田橋は、まだこれからという状態なので、今週末までもつかも？

全て、徒歩にて制覇・・・自宅を１０時に出て、夕食の買い物をして２時過ぎに帰宅。望地弁天キャンプ場で昼食（おにぎり）。

（注）イタリアのトスカーナ地方のサンジョヴェーゼ（ブドウの品種名）は、フローラルな香りを持った濃いルビー色の酸味、渋味の強いコクのある赤ワインです。イタリア料理と相性が良いのは当然ですが、トマトソースとよく合うとされている。

I have been to see the cherry blossoms close to my home today...
今日は、桜を見に近場の桜の名所？に行ってみました。
まず、近所の並木２丁目桜のトンネル・・・満開

続いて、鹿沼公園・・・満開

村富神社・・・いろんな桜が献木されていて、長期間桜が楽しめるそうですが、正面参道は散りかけていますね。

鎌倉自宅の桜・・・満開、後方は桃。

I had lunch at a Thai restaurant "イーサン食堂" in Minamirinkan, Yamato today.
Veg' soup...

Golden Brown Pork Rice... with very hot spice sauce.
And with jasmine rice from Thailand...

Desert... coconut milk

Very delicious!... it's awesome!!!

中国語では、豚足御飯、英語だとPig leg stew served with rice だが、この店ではGolden Brown Pork Rice と呼んでいる。

実は、近々、イーサン食堂である豊田勇造のライブの席の予約に行ってきたのでした。

A Sanuki udon noodle shop "笑門" in central Sagamihara

I had lunch at a Sanuki udon noodle shop that makes its own noodles in central Sagamihara today. Sanuki is the old name of the Kagawa prefecture in Shikoku, Japan.
（注）相模原市の中心街（市役所、警察署、税務署がある）の一角にある自家製麺の讃岐うどん屋さんです。
"笑門" comes from "笑門来福" that means "Fortune comes to a merry home" or "Laugh and grow fat".

Famous "Bukkake Udon" popular in the Kagawa prefecture. The thick soup broth directly pours on udon noodles.
（注）味の濃いタレをうどんに直接掛けながら食べます・・・通な食べ方やね～～本来のうどんの食感が楽しめるんです。

The most delicious udon noodles in Sagamihara... in Kanagawa... in Japan? Yummy!!!!

All staff of the restaurant "街角グラス" was celebrating my 68th birthday... two days before.

Had a birthday drink... It's on the house !

I am exceedingly happy... it is the best day !!
街角グラスの皆さんのおかげで、最高の一日でした！！
