Teriyaki Meatballs (テリヤキミートボール)

 My homemade dish called "Teriyaki Meatballs".


Recipe : 3 servings
350 grams ground beef and pork
50 grams panko bread crumbs
1 egg
1 clove garlic finely chopped
suitable amount parsley or green onion finely chopped
1/2 tbs. soy sauce
1 tsp. sake
pinch pepper
1 tbs. olive oil

teriyaki sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
2.5 tbs. soy sauce
2 tbs. mirin (sweet sake)
2 tbs. sake
2 tbs. sugar
4 tbs. water
1/2 tbs. cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbs. water)

(注)tbs.=table spoon (大さじ) tsp.=tea spoon (小さじ)

Directions :
1. Mix together all of the ingredients in a large bowl until well-combined. Spoon out meat mixture with a tablespoon, shape into balls.
2. Heat 1 tbs. olive oil in a large pan. Brown the meatballs on all sides until golden. Transfer to a plate.
3. Pour the sauce over meatballs.

【筆者感想】
普通はトマトソース味が多いのですが、今回はテリヤキソースを作ってみました。洋風なのに和風の味が楽しめます。ソースは鍋に入れて温めながらよく混ぜ合わせ、最後にコーンスターチを加えてとろみをつけます。軽めの赤ワインに合います。
