正月＠草津温泉

大晦日から正月３日まで骨休めに草津温泉に行ってきました。草津温泉の湯畑のすぐ近くにこじんまりした定宿があって毎年お世話になっています。
I have been to Kusatsu Onsen hot spring in Gunma with my wife during New Year's Days.

上野から特急草津３号で行ったんだけれども、電車での旅の楽しみといえば、駅弁ですよね・・・今回は、珍しくも大船軒の駅弁が手に入りました。有名な鯵の押し寿司・・・これが美味いんだよね。

I had a box lunch bought at Ueno station in a train. it's a "hinomaru bento" (a box lunch with a red umeboshi in the center of the white rice, being compared to the Japanese flag (the Rising Sun) ) and familiar ingredients in a box....tasty Oshi-zushi topped with aji (Japanese horse mackerel)

それで、年末から年始にかけての料理といえば・・・年越しそば、お節にお雑煮なんだけれど、旅館で大げさじゃないんだけれど新年の雰囲気を味わうことが出来ました。

元旦にお節をいただいてから近くの白根神社にお参りに行きました。

I made a first visit to a shrine at the beginning of the New Year.

そして、今回特筆すべきなのが、ここ・・・昨年開業した「御座之湯」に入ってきました。昔あって、長く途絶えていたのを復活させたということで、古くて新しい・・・何とも草津らしい温泉です・・・中をお見せできないのが残念です？

This traditional hot spring had long been failed but was reconstructed in last year...it's old but fits into the present age...very nice!!
